Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Roma are brutal, how did they manage to beat Real Madrid over two legs?

Well the core of the team is AWESOME.

A great striker would finish the jigsaw as they say.

    ROMA RIPPING UTD APART.

Doni just proving the idiots wrong who say Brazil don't produce great goalkeepers.

The ref is a bit of a homer.

If I was to pick a Roma/UTD team, this would be it.

    Doni

    Cicinho Vidic Ferdinand Evra

    De Rossi Hargreaves

    Totti

    Ronaldo Mancini

    Rooney

UTD have a slightly better team, much better squad with more dynamic players.

    jaysus.. awful peno

    Defo a penalty though.

Was definately a peno, Brown kicked his foot.

An appalling attempt at a peno though.

Jesus Roma cant even get a shot off when they are in front of goal. Poor poor team.

Clear peno, kicked his foot which changed the direction of the ball.

Ray Houghton shouting and giving out about the decision then halts after the reply.........what a fool :)

Agreed, brown did connect with his foot, but he made a meal of it by delaying his fall.

Andy Grey drives me nuts. Going on and on about 'watch the ball - it goes off left - he's conned the ref", Nice one Andy, unfortunately its Mancini's foot that knocks it left after being kicked by Brown.

De Rossi though...rubbish..really wanted an early Roma goal to make a decent spectacle of it. While the match is flowing nicely now, im just not getting any feeling of excitement with Utd's 2 goal cushion.

That was the worst peno I have seen since Beckham skyed it a few years ago.
    lol @ Ray Houghtons commentary

Judging by the stream I'm watching, it didn't look like a penalty, but I'll wait to see a better quality replay. Roma fecked up an excellent chance to get right back into the tie, though

  • Registered Users Posts: 11,692 ✭✭✭✭OPENROAD

Listen to those UTD English clowns...'same old Italians always cheating''

probably loads of Irish clowns there also.

Watch the replay again, Brown kicked it away!

You're right, putting on their English accents.

This game is very similar to the game at OT earlier in the season, all over them but can't score.

Giggs is testing the aul patience. He was the origin of that peno with his stupid "turn like a tank" turn.

you are talking such rubbish in this thread it is unbelievable. United are the better side so far, and have 3 brilliant chances - Doni is keeping Roma in this - they were far better earlier int he season.

    Roma
A stupid risk to play Ferdinand tonight unless he was 100%, Vidic already out we dont need to lose Ferdinand as well.

That leaves us with peanuts in defence. SAF stick brown center back and JOS at right back.

I accept Roma won't go through, but you must accept that Roma have passed UTD off the park since the 25 mark,

If Schalke had a striker they'd be home and hosed by now. Shocking.

They have had some nice triangles in midfield but haven't actually troubled United at all really - United have been the better side all half imo and have created the better chance

Rio doesn't look near 100%, could potentially cost us the title and/or the Champions League if he further injures himself

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,322 ✭✭✭Mad_Max

Utd are all over the place atm. Up till the pen they played great stuff, flowing movement and great passing.

Since the pen they've been like headles chickens. Just need someone to calm it all down. Half time is very much welcomed!!

If rio goes off and he likely puts Josh in we are going to defend Roma with:

    Josh - Wes - Pique - Silvestre

    Dear jaysus!

100% a penalty. Having watched the replay from behind the goal on about 20 occassions, it was defo a penalty.

Who cares, I am taking Michael Parkinson's approach from now on , when he was on Sky Sports coverage of the FA Cup Barnsley semi final, decision been made, I thought it was a peno , and I am Man U fan. Whats the point in arguing though cause at the end of the day they missed :D.

  • Moderators, Regional South East Moderators Posts: 9,049 Mod ✭✭✭✭Aquos76

Gary Neville is coming on for his first apperance since St Patricks day 2007 to a standing ovation.

    On for Anderson.

Also, Barcelona skipper Carles Puyol will miss the first leg of the semi-final after he is booked for clattering into Gerald Asamoah.
