Recommend a Camcorder pls..

I'm looking for a camcorder, ~€500 ish. I want to put my recordings on DVD afterwards, maybe a little editing aswell, ie. can all this be done without too much hassle. What are the different types? the advantages of either one? PS. I'm a little green when it comes to camcorders....

I got a Sanyo Hd1000 last week, was around €500 on ebay.

I have a decent Sony MiniDV (TV950) camcorder but its too heavy to bring on holidays or when I am out and about. The Sanyo fits into my pocket and the quality is excellent, it uses SD HC! And is also an 8 megapixel camera.
