Diagnosis - Gearstick looser than a northside

    Hi
    My Peugeot 206 is acting up again.
    When parked the gearstick is very loose.
    Wobbles around.
    The gears do engage but 1st and 2nd are very sloooooooooooooow.
    Then once it hits third its fine.

    Anyone any ideas whats up and what itll cost me?

    it could be just your gear linkage needing work i.e worn bushes etc. not too much of a job.
    or worst case scenario, a gearbox issue.

    Chech the cables that run from your gear stick to the top of the gear box.
    If the gear stck feels looser than normal in nuetral than it shouldnt be a problem with clutch/gearbox.
    If it is happening with just trying to select 1st and 2nd then I would start looking at clutch/gerabox.
