Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Hi I am buying a wood oven to install into a kitchen extension I am building. One of these - http://www.fornobravo.com/residential_pizza_oven/casa_pizza_oven.html
the casa80 31 inch oven to be exact. I was wondering has anyone got one or has anyone used one in Ireland?

Want one, but haven't used one. There is a thread on DIY & Gardening forum about building one if you fancy a more hands on approach. Fornobravo also have several sets of plans that are available free.

Thanks for the link. Yeah I was looking at building one alright but because I am building a new kitchen and putting it there, I dont want the first one I build (The first time you do anything its bound to have mistakes)and then have the wife nagging me that its crap. I might still build one for the garden if the 31 inch dome isnt big enough. Good to know I am not alone in wanting one... :)

Have you downloaded the plans from the Forno Bravo site?
There is a beaut of an indoor oven in there. See attached...

HB - That seems to be one of those outdoor kitchens. There is a huge amount of information about building outdoor kitchens - just have a look at wood fired ovens on amazon. Largely an American or Australian phenomenom, the outdoor kitchen is only as useful as the weather allows. All the same, I was amazed - what happened to just having a bbq??

One point worth considering when choosing indoor vs outdoor, would you use an indoor wood fired oven during the summer months? If the whole of the oven is within the boundary of the house, having a 400c radiator in the kitchen when it 30c outside probably isn't a great idea. But an outdoor oven can be used regardless of the temperature outside.

My bad. After a close look I see that it is indeed an outdoor kitchen. Not the most suitable for the píssy Irish summers. :(

Thats a really good point and thankfully one whole side of the kitchen is doors that open out into a patio area. Hopefully during the winter when its fired up it will provide some heat in the kitchen too.

Yes I am tempted to do a self build as its quite expensive, I am waiting for a quote at the mo back from FornoBrava for shiping+Price. The Guy (Alf) from forno said he has sold lots of kits (What I am buying)already in Ireland North and South and only finished a fitted oven in Limerick.

Glad somebody else has done it already:)

While the self build is much cheaper, I am finding it difficult to buy refractory bricks. Materials may be hard to find.

Thanks - the only one I found was Hanworth Refractories, and they wouldn't return my calls.
