Your not missing anything. But the 9800gtx isnt a whole lot faster than the 8800gtx and has 256 less RAM.And the 8800 was just never reduced in price that far due to costs of production id imagine. So thats the reason id say.

    I was gonna buy http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-031-EA&groupid=701&catid=56&subcat=877
    - 10 Year Warranty Direct
    - 90 Day Step-up/upgrade programme from day of purchase (Upgrade your card and only pay the difference direct with EVGA

But seeing the price for a 9800 on HWV is cheaper in euros than overclockers is in sterling, I think I'll go with the 9800 from HWV.

I don't see that MSI model on the MSI website though!

I love the way EVGA is naming stuff:
EVGA GeForce 9800 - GeForce 9800 GTX core running at 675MHz
    and
EVGA GeForce 9800 GTX Superclocked -core running at 685MHz

10 mhz-superclocked-WTF and probably you'll get like 0.5 extra frames ? Plus you'll be charged extra 22 pounds.................

all they need now is to but a cat on the box holding the 9800GTX shouting "moar hurtz" and all the n00bs will come running and buy it.

Also, anyone know the noise levels and temps of the 9800GTX yet? Are they much lower than the 8800GTX?

Similar model number (N9800GTX-T2D512 as opposed to N9800GTX-M2D512) here: http://www.msi.eu/news/press/2008/PR_MSI_N9800GTX/PR_MSI_N9800GTX.html

Reviving thread to confirm that the hardwareversand MSI 9800GTX-M2D512 I received is actually a N9800GTX-T2D512 according to the documentation.

Thankfully it is listed on their website.

Nice, let us know how it is.

Think I'll sell my 8800Gtx and buy two 9800Gtx's in a month or so when the price is closer to 200 euro.
