How do u access U: network drive from home?

    Without a netsoc account :o

    I do have an aisling account that I can access from home , and it seems to be connected up with all tthe other servers. I just dunno what the server name/share name to access U: is called. Would anyone have a copy of the udrive program from netsoc? I know it's running smbclient anyway.. Even just cat it out and paste it here, or maybe PM me, would be a great help.

    yup netsoc is needed, hence the reason why people have accounts with them.

    it's one of their biggest selling points.

    well no you have to get a netsoc account . but once you do its easy enough . sure i know its late on , but if you really want i am sure you could join up now

    I don't understand why it's not possible. The server with the U drives is on aoife, and I can ping aoife and get a list of shares on it (when logged into aisling).

    Yes but try mounting them and see what happens.

    EDIT: from within college you can mount your shares no problem straight out. You have access to aisling from outside college, but cannot really do that much with it, certainly not mount shares, and you cannot mount shares directly from outside college....
