Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Any changes made to the Host file in Vista don't seem to have any effect on the browsers, anyone have any ideas why!?!

I made a load of changes to my Host file to block advertising companies and it works perfectly here. I'm running Vista Business.

Strange. As I said, no problems here. Is the file set to Read Only by any chance? You may need to change that if it is.

    Is enable LMHOST lookup enabled?
    Control Pannel/Network Connections
Right click network adapter and click properties.
Double click Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4)
    Click Advanced
    Click WINS
    If it's ticked then I'm at a loss :(

maybe off topic but firefox uses it's own dnscache so see how it behaves

are you sure that the you aren't editing hosts.txt or that changes aren't blocked by some security product / windows defender

Same here. Most obvious explanation is the changes are being prevented.
