Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

The FA and referees

Well I have to say I'm quite impressed with Keith Hackett and their recent treatment of referees.

    From F365 -
    Ref Styles 'rested' after mistakes
Referee Rob Styles has been 'rested' from Premier League action this weekend following a series of bizarre decisions recently.

Styles appeared to 'even things up' in Birmingham's 3-1 win over Manchester City last weekend, by awarding the Blues a highly contentious penalty after sending off defender Franck Queudrue earlier in the game.

This was the third game in a row that Styles has pulled such a trick, giving penalties to Nottingham Forest and Watford after dismissing players in their games against Northampton and Stoke respectively.

Styles, who came under immense pressure earlier in the season because of his poor handling of the Chelsea v Liverpool game at Anfield - in which he awarded an extremely soft spot-kick to Florent Malouda - has been left off both the Premier League and Football League lists for the weekend action.

Uriah Rennie will also be putting his feet up after his decision to send off Steve Kabba in Watford's game against Hull was overturned this week.

This suggests that referees chief Keith Hackett is continuing a policy of cracking down on poor performances from his officials. Mike Riley was 'rested' last weekend after his perceived mishandling of the Tottenham v Chelsea game last month, in which he failed to send Ashley Cole off for a late and high challenge on Alan Hutton.

Styles' decision in our game was ludicrous and I'm delighted he's been 'rested'. His decision in the Pool/Chelsea game earlier this season was just as bad.

Not the first time Rennie has had a week off either and I'm sure it won't be the last.

Uriah Rennie is a shocking ref, only Styles is worse. Riley is a bottler, a good ref, but a bottler against the big teams. He vastly favours the top 4 and the stars above everyone else.

Logical conclusion is that the time has come for retrospective punishment for offences refs either miss or are too lenient with.

But now that they're professional, surely they can just be sacked??
