Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

does anyone have knowledge on employment contract law??

specifically pertaining to the british army?

My cousin wants out and had offer of new employment outside the army but is told by the army that he has to serve another 2 years, therefore career fouling him and holding him like a prison sentence!!!

he signed his army contract aged 16, which i understand that a person under the age of 18 cant legally sign a contact of that sort which would stand up in court!!!

Any info would be much appreciated

I think the normal rules of contract won't apply to an army contract and a one signed by a 16 year old is probably binding here.

Did he sign or did his parents?

Can it be considered an apprenticeship? Apprenticeships are binding on the apprentice as it is he is the beneficiary.

sorry for the late reply, no he signed by himself, i joined the army and did the same at 16 but as soon as i turned 18 i had to resign, which he hasnt done, and also they wont give him a copy of the contract which i know under the subject access act they have 2.

There are loads of exceptions for the British Army most likely on the grounds of national security.
