You could take the Luas tram (www.luas.ie) from Heuston to Connolly and walk the rest of the way. Also, the 53A will bring you from the city centre (Eden Quay) down to the Point Depot but a 53A is a rarer than a penguin sunbathing in the Bahamas.

The Castleforbes Road area is not really served regularly by bus.

You could get the 90 from Heuston and get off at the IFSC and walk along Custom House Quay and North Wall Quay. It would be about a 10 -15 minute walk I guess(?)

Or, as Dennis said, get the LUAS to Connolly (and walk via Sheriff Street Lower and Sheriff Street Upper).

Note the area is a vast array of road works and building sites. I think normally leave 30 minutes for Heuston-Castleforbes, but leave 45-60 minutes on your first day.

The number 90 is currently diverted through Castleforbes Road because of the Luas works, so this is the best option. Ask the driver to make sure he is taking the diversion.

    It now has the 53/a 90, 151. :)

The Luas is the best bet because its quite regular. Its not a bad walk from the Luas stop to Castleforbes, about 20 minutes through the IFSC. Dont be put off by talk of going through Sherrif Street Upper and Lower, you can avoid them by going through the IFSC and then onto the quays (although the Sherrif St way is quicker, but only by a couple of minutes)
