    Hey,
Recommend me a game to play about with on me laptop.

    specs are:
    Intel Pentium M 740 @ 1.8 GHz
    512MB DDR2 RAM
    60GB HDD
    128mb onboard graphics.

Not great, but I'm sure theres some good games I can play on it. Maybe Halo 1? I'm playing StarCraft at the moment too but I've played that a good bit so looking for something else, maybe a FPS like battlefield or Call of Duty, except with lower specs...

Anyway, thanks in advance for any help with curing my boredom!!

Call of Duty but play it online too. Medal of Honour:Allied Assault is pretty class online & off.
    Football Manager 2008.
    Beyond Good & Evil.
    Tribes:Vengeance.
Max Payne 1 & 2:The fall of Max Payne.
    No One Lives Forever 1&2.
    Unreal Tournament 2004.
    Deus Ex.
Psychonauts might work, depends on which integrated card you have. You can check here: http://www.psychonauts.com/cards.htm
Also I agree with magick's sentiments about Undying - it is The ****.
    Alien v Predator 1 & 2.

FM08 might be a bit slow on 512K. Second Max Payne and NOLF though.
Maybe some of the earlier Thief games too?

I'm playing FM08 on a 1.6GHz with 1GB RAM and its ok but I'd agree that the demo should be tried first. Thief games yes! They're class as well. Also Command and Conquer:Red Alert 2.

Odd that noone has mentioned System Shock 2 yet...

    Whats System Shock?

I used to play Quake III Arena in college and a bit of Unreal Tournament. They were OK.
I preferred RTCW Multiplayer though, or Enemy Territory, mainly coz its more army-esque!

I like the idea of C&C coz i had Red Alert 2 on old PC. Must see if i can dig it out.

I dont suppose Burnout 3 would work on them specs? or maybe a NFS game?

and FM games, i think they're OK but i've rarely gotten into them too deeply!

i dunno what genre im looking for. I'm gonna be doing travelling so I'll probably want a few games. That Irish horror FPS seems like a sure thing, if for nothing but the novelty factor!! Is it like an Irish RE:4? haha
