Just registered to say thanks to all you guys (and ladies) for providing the most accurate and interesting forecasts I've ever seen. I've been using this site instead of RTE. I must admit I do love the snow, but at this stage of the year, would be hoping for record highs, however, a few belated snowball fights with the kids would be good. Keep it up, veggie planting is relying on you ;).

Fizzled out before getting to coastal wicklow. And looking inland with my admittedly limited view, it doesn't seem to be precipitating much over mountains.

WC better wake up and look out his window before the sun thaws all the snow.
    Clearing now overhead

The main shower clouds are just to the west of me here, been snowing lightly here for the last 45 mins or so despite being clear overhead.
Safe to assume its getting dumped on Lug, Djouce etc..I know where I'm going once temp rises and snow on the road melts (its lethal currently).

Just had snow shower here - mainly light but like I suggest only 5 days ago - readily sticking:p

Might be some very heavy showers later and heavy snow in places but I still think the East is not that favoured. However UKM shows shows snow practically right through the night tonight in the East. Not sure how much to read into it though.

I dont quite understand that as the wind wont really be on shore.

Probably predicting clumps of showers moving south again DM.

Have been watching the NW 5 min radar and the band of precip over southern Scotland has a SSW movement in it. Outside chance of hitting the east coast here but might pep up over the sea as it travels soutwards. One to watch.

I think it snowed here last night as somebody left a snowball on a car in the driveway?? It's only melting now!

I don't think the showers, when they come, will last long in this strong wind.

Drove from Tipp to Dublin this morning at 8am, 1c with light snow in SE Tipp, 4c in Laois and light rain, and fine everywhere else, nice covering on hills to the right on way in to Dublin though.

No significant precip on the BBC forecasts for Eastern Ireland.
Listening to met Éireann you'd think the cold end of the world is nigh, they've even got it on the news.
6.6c here now with a 0.4c dew point.
I won't be ordering in a snow plough.
Theres likely to be more snow and hail showers at sea level alright mainly guaranteed to be snow/hail in the early morning and overnight or in very heavy precipitation I think, but once the sun comes out anything lying will be gone very very fast.
Incidently theres a tad of NE in the North wind here, which means if anything yet unseen drifts down the Irish sea,I'm unfortunately likely to see it.
