on the 14 of march i was working putting away new stock. i had a case of glass bottles of cokes in my hand the pub one and fell over. i severly cut my hand on them bottles. had to get surgyer on my hand. i cut muscles and damaged my nerve in my little finger. its going to take 6 to 10 months for it to grow back, i'll only get 50 percent feeling back. should i clam comp from work or the insurances from work. i really don't know what to do.

Think this is another one for here.

As regards your problem what did the company have to say?

Was there anything unsafe in the area? Because if you "claim compo", the first thing you'll be asked if was the environment unsafe and if so, had the pub owner ignored it.

Nothing unsafe about a case of coke bottles. Did you drop it because you weren't wearing safety shoes? Any hotel I've worked in gave me safety shoes. Doubt a pub would do this though

You're not automatically entitled to anything, could have been your own fault and then you get what you deserve!

boss hasn't said anything to me. was standing on a palet when i fell. boss rang yesterday asking me when i'm coming back that he wants me back very soon because of staff wanting to take time off and he knows i can't hold anything in the hand at moment. he doesn't even supply gloves to take out the empty bottles and i'v cut my hand loads of times when doing the job.

Moving to work and jobs: work problems.

Have a look at health and safety regulations if you can and go to a specialist for legal advice

+ 1 for legal advice. This is serious enough to warrent it. Do it as soon as possible also so, dont leave it for a few weeks or anything as you want to make sure that you do everything the correct way according to what the lawyer has to say.
