Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

So, I spent a couple hours on boards for the first time in a long time today......and I only know half the posters on here.

Good to see there's still some opinioniated sods now, like there always was. The king is dead (Amaru) ....long live the king.

Howsabout a 'online team event' MTT on Stars? .... The Veterans V The Newbs?

Mods (lmao 5starpool a mod ffs:pac:) pick a cut off date for boards registration e.g Dec 2005??? and let battle commence:)

I'll wipe the dust off my mouse and get ready for the tourney:)

Any chance you could write a post someday on how the whole VegasBaby thing worked out, whether it was a cashcow, worthwhile (in financial or nonfinancial terms).

Apols if this is a bit cheeky

Don't want to derail thread but ...Short and sweet, they (Action Poker Network) stopped paying affiliates in Dec 2006.

I didn't lose any money, but I didn't make any either.

To be a true Vet one would have to have played in a Suited Ace game,I played one I think it was the last one.

ah now, to be a true vet you would have had to of played at least one of the boads home games and one game in the Batflat!

I think I'm a noob vet so, my first live tournament was the SSF game in 2004, by that stage the real vets had moved on from mostly concentrating on the Fitz freerolls and playing the Fitz EOM was the pinnacle of poker!

One flaw is that people who have been members of Boards before they even realised there was a poker forum will be classified as a vet. Not that I'm ungrateful to be branded with this title....

Wasn't there online SA games on gamingclub too?

I'd like to know why some of those early players stopped playing or posting at least. MrP, Hyzepher etc..

To be a true vet you would have had to have eaten more than one of MrPudding's honey glazed sausages.

    Vet status includes:

    1. Suited Aces had a league
    2. Heard of Ken Cleary
    3. Played in the Fitz when there was no upstairs
    4. Remember when Davey Devil won the 250 on a freeroll ticket
    5. When 'Luckyblind' had the only poker blog in Ireland

Hmmm, that's me... but I don't think I was a Boards member when Davey Devil won his first EOM, so do I count?

    Status should also include:
    6. Remember Lafortezza playing a SSF charity game as a 'burd'.

    I'm sure there's loads more.

Edit: 7. Played on one of the two Boards teams in JP's first team event (and won 1st and 3rd). Although that was 2006, so maybe that's too late to be considered a vet?

You could add the Fitz Business League to that list.Plus the few boards members who made the trip out to the Europa Hotel for the first ever GJP game,GJP have come a long way since then.

Welcome back BigD... in your honour and because it's funny, not quite as funny as the "Cardshark is broke thread" but here goes....

I played in the Fitz when there was no upstairs....
I remember the Thursday freeroll games...
I remember clapping when Paddy "the Dyson" hicks came into the club after his 2nd place finish in the Irish open side game... Do I count...

A true Vet would recall that this was amp and MrPudding, and would also try not to insult a venerable poker mod.
