just wondering if anyone can help me with this, i am a film student and i have to write an essay about the advantages and disadvantages of using multi-cam setups compared to using a single camera for shooting film and tv.
can anybody help me, just where is the best place to get the information, i have searched online but i'm not sure if i can trust the information on some websites.
    thanks.

Is this from a practical stand point or is one meant to throw in a bit of theory/artistic debate aswell?

    Seems a bit obvious:
Single Cam means less costs (advantage) involved but the director must take more care in setting up shots (disadvantage). More suited to low-budget indie productions and pictures where the director has storyboarded in advance.

Muti-cam means more choice in the editing room (advantage) but with a higher budget (disadvantage). More suited to Jerry Bruckheimer-style action movies or documentary-style productions where spontaneous scenes can't be repeated with a second take.
