Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Greetings all,

After a short discussion with our esteemed moderator PSI, I've decided to conduct a short and simple survey of the soccer forum members.

Basically I believe that the age of the poster goes a long way to depicting what team they support i.e. many of those born between 1980 and 1988 or so will be United fans, late 60s and early 70s babies will be Liverpool fans etc etc. It's a big generalisation and of course not everyone will follow the trend but I'm curious as to whether age has an impact on what posters agree/disagree with each other and if there could be a generation gap at all.

So all I'm looking for us one post per user stating your age and what team you support i.e.

    Age - 23

    Club - Manchester City

Did your family influence your decision to support that team? - No

With so many users here on a daily/weekly basis we could get some interesting results.

    Cheers for you support.

I'd imagine you'll see a fairly even divide between Man Utd & Liverpool amongst the 20~ year olds, with a smatterings of Arsenals and even a Blackburn or two thrown in!

Family influence???? Had a cousin from England who spent summers with us and he was pool so i was too. Grandfather was massive Arsenal fan and I cried when Michael Thomas scored at Anfield in 89...

Interesting topic, good luck compiling the stats at the end! ;)
For the record I'm 29 and a Liverpool supporter.
What was your Family team as in who did your father support?
It doesn't have any bearing on my choice of Liverpool but for the record my father was born in North London so has a soft spot for Arsenal, he also used to work in Reading so has a soft spot for them too :). I'm the eldest in my family so I didn't have an older brother to copy from.

    Family NO

But your thoughts on been born in a time frame is very interesting, could you add one question.
What was your Family team as in who did your father support? think alot of the 20 year old liverpool would have this as their first contact with the club . Some how I think this factor will be greater amongst liverpool fans.

not sure why you would come to that conclusion, is it based on the number of Irish players playing for United during those years? Certainly I was in the minority in the group of lads I grew up with.

Now if you were to say 1987-1992 I'd agree with you in relation to bandwagoners etc.

    anyway..

Yeah you could be right. Unfortunately over 30 people have responded to the thread already so I can't really add in additional questions now unfortunately.

I didn't want to go too indept, just get an idea of the forum as a whole.

    Man Utd.

United won their first league title in God knows how long in 1993. That would have people who were 12 (1981) defecting from Liverpool, Everton etc, and those who were say 6 (1987) and were getting their first jersey for going to school, training etc. It's certainly what I experienced all through primary school and I'm a 1985 kid.

Did your family influence your decision to support that team?
