    Hey guys,

Im looking for an upgrade to my current machine, its about 6 years old (and the PSU blew so I dont know what else is dead)

    I need :
    CPU
    MB
    RAM
    GPU
    PSU
SATA HD x2 (total of 500GB)
    Case
    19+ LCD
    Vista

I'm looking at buying it from hardwareversand.de

I've played around with the PC Configurator a few times but Im really not sure what Im getting and dont want to back myself into an upgrade culdesac for the future.

    Cheers!

What will you be using it for?

What will you be using it for?

    :o sorry!

It will mainly be for gaming + some work (but nothing power/graphics mad)
So if its suitable for high-end gaming it will be perfect.

    cheers!

I would swap a few things like a better motherboard, power supply, ram, hard drive

    Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3L

    It works..

You might have to flash the bios, but I think they have that sorted now..

The Gigabyte GA-EP35-DS3 is a better board and only €80

    Overclocking?

Drop to the E8400 and save ~ €30 for the sake of 160MHz

ok so it looks like I can upgrade the MB and downgrade the GPU for ~ same cost.
    What about the RAM?
Is the Corsair 4GB kit faster than the stuff I picked or just cheaper?

Also regarding the LCD, Im guessing I want something like 5ms with 2000:1 contrast, any opinions?

Whats better about that psu other than it being corsair? Will it be noisy?
I had a BeQuiet that was lovely and quiet (until it blew up!)

    Cheers!

Ok what do you think now?
    pcspecsfy6.jpg

Im undecided between the LG 22" LCD and the 20" LCD/TV, the TV is about €60 quid more but is not HDMI

Also are people using 32 or 64 bit Vista these days?
Anything I see on the web says use 32 bit version due to driver signing problems...

Cheaper than the dual core and will work in that motherboard.

Also the MSI 8800gt is actually cheaper than that 3870 and will outperform it in most cases to my knowledge.

4gigs of ram will only be seen completely by a 64bit vista or xp. 32bit will start to lose some from the amount of system ram it can address depending on how much RAM your sound card ,graphics card etc...... take up.

    cool thanks for the info.

Is anyone here using 64bit vista?
Are you having driver probems are have they fixed the "ignore unsigned drivers" issue?
