24 Hour MTB race

I am considering trying one later this year in Scotland, either solo or with a buddy as a relay team. I have never tried anything quite like this before and it would be great if anyone has any advice/stories/experience that would be helpful. :)

Get your entry in quickly - they tend to fill up fast, particularly the solo entries. Which event is it?

I've done a couple (Sleepless in the Saddle) as a team of 4/5. The hardest part is dragging yourself out of your tent at 3am for a couple of laps. Apart from that it was grand.
