Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Vista Random Shutdown

I get these sudden shut downs with no warning just a blank screen followed by a boot up shortly after, which asks me to enter safe mode, safe mode with networking or start normally. I enter normally. So the power is always on. I could be playing games, browsing the internet, downloading or even leave the PC dormant for a few hours, only to come back and see it at the logon screen. I have windows vista ultimate. Does anyone know what could cause these sudden shutdowns?
    Any help is appreciated!

Run windows update. There was some patch released in the last week that covered some issue that SP1 caused which was related to persistent restarts.

I uninstalled it but those errors are still happening :(

    Hmmm...

Can you give the PC a reboot and capture the events ( like you did above ) after the 1st crash that happens again?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 484 ✭✭Adriatic

Ok its just after happening now and those exact same errors i captured above have appeared again, but they all appear after it boots up again ie shutdown at 18:50 then errors at 18:52 etc
