Blackberry curve and pearl

Does anyone know if o2 will bring out a newer version of the pearl (8110 or 8120) since they have the curve 8310 out now? Also am I right in saying that blackberrres only run on GPRS on the vodafone network not EDGE? Is there much difference in speed between GPRS and EDGE?
