Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

our own luckylucky has just won a seat in the LAPT in Rio in May......

I believe he was in a locked room with no radio/phone/tv/newspaper/cb or any other form of communication...

although rumour has it he was tapping morse code on the rad pipes and sending some smoke signals though the chimney when faced with some tough decisions.....

Brazil from what I can gather has become a much safer country in recent years, also according to Pokerstars the casino is in the nice part of town.

Rio is relatively safe for tourists, the crime bosses like to keep it that way. If you hear about kidnappings there, the victims are all rich Brazilian families.

You might get mugged in a bad area or pickpocketed in a tourist trap but really it's no worse than any other major city and it's hard to wander into the favelas. The biggest risk is being shook down for a few quid by the police: if this happens they will ask for like 5k in US dollars but settle for $25 in local currency.

Cheers Danny. I had a look for yeah on msn when I kicked it off, soz had to play there and then or I might have had to wait another few days as the final step was filling up, I was last one to join the table as it was. The funny thing was there was a guy sitting out the whole way through and he finished in 5th spot, one a way from a ticket, 4 from 10 went through.

I found out(well my wife did) that there is a Dengue Fever Epidemic in Rio, so I tried to get a refund. Stars are claiming that it's not a problem... "it is perfectly safe, especially, in the city as the dry season approaches. The LAPT will not be affected by the situation in the less frequently visited areas of the city."

Anyway in short, no refund is forthcoming.... anyways c'mon... be good to have another Irish person out there. :)

The b'ds . I might well have changed to another event if given that option, probably not though ..Rio is the easiest for me to get to, so hopefully this Dengue fever epidemic will clear with the dry season as Pokerstars are saying.

Ah well, gl in Uruguay then. ;)
