As usual THQ/Yukes will dish our their usual pile of tripe come November.

This year their selling features are a new and improved tag team mode and the much hyped 'Create-a-Finisher' mode.

I'm not optimistic. While it looks pretty cool:

I would much prefer they put loads and loads of moves in from all around the world.

    I didn't buy SVR 2008, because I already have a plentify supply of ****.

I really hope they get over the whole making sure Batista's nipple looks great, or making sure HHH's six pack is defined as possible.

The game I'm more looking forward to is TNA: Impact

I'm really hoping they focus on gameplay, and deliver a good wrestling game for the NG consoles.

What ever happened to that MIND BLOWING video for UFC 2008 or something? It was out in 2006 and it looked like gameplay, the graphics were phenominal but they said it wouldnt be out for another 2 years or something?

I know its not wrestling but someone might know.

''As announced by a trailer on July 12, 2007 at E3, the next-gen UFC game, entitled UFC 2009 is currently in progress. On February 7th 2008 THQ announced they will give further information on UFC 2009 during the UFC 84 pay-per-view broadcast''

UFC 84 is sometime in late May, perhaps even the day Il Trap manages Ireland for the first time. We shall know more then.

Yeah lookin forward to TNA Impact. AJ Styles and Samoa Joe are too avid gamers and are both in a supervisor role throughout the develpoment.

That doesn't mean much when you think about it.

90% of the people involved in making all games are avid gamers - that's why they do it. Doesn't mean they all have the time / money / talent to make a great game.

But I'm sure actual wrestlers who are big gamers would be able to describe how a wrestling game should play and feel to just a programmer who has no wrestling background.

Just like the way weapon specialists and tactical assault specialist help to make a much more realistic action/shooter, I'm sure wrestlers will be able to help make a more realistic wrestling sim.

I Think this does mean somthing to have the wrestlers as gamers. Thats exactly were Smackdown lets down everybody. The other fact Smackdown is bad is because it leaves out wrestlers and features only to add them into next years game. This year i know they are going to abuse DLC as its a new feature. They are going to leave out wrestlers so you can pay for them later in the year.
TNA well i am cant say if its going to be any good yet. Clearly graphics look great but that will take away from the "create a wrestler" Online will have to be looked at also.
They all need to take a leaf out of Japanese wrestling games like Firepro and King of Collasseum. These are fantastic games , even though graphics are not great.
Even No Mercy on the N64 .

I noticed recently after seeing a gameplay video of TNA Impact the graphics and animations look NOTHING like they were when they were first previewed, the animations look awful and reminds me of the awful Acclaim WWF collection for the PSX/N64.

The game is going to bomb.
