Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Evening all - am in the middle of reinstalling x on a machine that i have been given. The pc will be used in a homeless hostel by the lads living there to for web & mail and the like, nothing too fancy like!
I have been using mac's mainly for the last couple of years and so am wee bit out of touch with nice open source apps that might be useful (or un for that matter).
Also, I want to lock the machine down fairly tightly, basically so that you cant install apps and the like with out admin p/w.

Oh sorry, was looking for avg free download and could not find it, is it still available? If not, any recs on good security s/w, pref FREE:D

    Thanks.

once installed in control panel and users make sure you set a password for the admin account, then open a standard account for everyone else then they wont be able to install.

Not sure about 2007 but for all earlier versions an exchange CAL licenses a copy of Outlook on the client. And outlook allow s you yto see the address book and shared folders and calander and all that other non-email stuff

all pop3/smtp clients will work with exchange if it allows them, but means you have to backup the email, IMAP clients can also work with exchange so you can leave folders on the server and manage them but you have to re-sync folders manually doesn't really work automatically. Bottom line, microsoft don't really go overboard to support third party email clients , because they provide one free.
