    Hi Everyone,

I have brick walls enclosing my back garden. The trouble is they are not very high and I have no privacy with them.

I have attached a photo of a fence that I thing would do the job. Does any one know where I could get wooden fencing like that or someone I could get to do it? I'm based in Limerick.

    Cheers

A simple and effective route would be to place battons on the wall HORIZONTALLY, and screw 8'ft wooden lats (treated ones) onto them vertically - quite a cheap fix and an 8ft fence.........givin you loads of privicy and you can then paint it whatever colour you like.

Atlantic homecare have low level garden panel options , similar to the ones in the photograph. Follow the arrangement in the photo, fix vertical supports from 4x2 material every 3feet, and fix a 6 foot long panel onto these.

Aligning 2 meeting panels halfway across 4" , giving 2" bearing on each panel joint. Where the verticals run above the dwarf wall, add another 4x2 to the back of the fixed 4x2 making it 4x4 above the wall, and 4x2 from the top of the wall downwards, for stability.

Hope this makes sense, as its late, and I,m falling asleep.:p.....ZZZzzz........

Have a go yourself. Half the battle is having the right tools, so for a start off borrow them. As someone said I'd put upright battons, say 3 X 3 or 4 X 2 pressure treated. There are lots of new ways to secure them to the wall now. Either use rawlbolts or one of the new types. There are ones you simply drill through the timber and on into the wall, then you hammer the fixing through the timber and into the wall, job done.

Some info here http://www.diyfixit.co.uk/diy/building/wall_fixing/wall_fixing_1.html. I'm sure there are plenty of us on here that can give you directions and help.

Also lots of different fixing types on here http://www.screwfix.com/cats/5/Fixings
