    Because the diploma doesnt qaulify you to work on planes. A lad I know done the course and is still only a 2nd year apprentice at the age of 23. The only thing that matters in maintenance terms is EASA CatA,CatB1,CatB2 and of course CatC.

    I know they do EASA exams in carlow but you still need the 5 years experience which you cant get without being in a hangar or on the ramp.
