Wow, one small element of the overall composition is pin sharp, the remainder is soft at best. It does not, to my eye dsipay motion. IMHO it's a poor image and not to the standard Peadar has set himself. That was my observation and I stand over the comment.

I don't remember posting the images & requesting criticism!
There were at least 4 people, from boards, at the game with cameras & we all chatted before the game, about what we expected.

After the game, we let others see what we got.

As for the Flannery image, I've had plenty people compliment me & say it works for them. The rules are there to be broken & sometimes, you get away with it.
If you don't like the image, fair enough, I'll still get a good nights sleep.

We expected to get wet, and we certainly did. :D Other than that, we hoped to get a few good photos, and I certainly think that we all got some really good images.

I hate that word rules. There are no rules in photography - just guidelines. Like the "Rule of Thirds". It's a guideline, since images that don't comply can be just as striking and stunning.

Bottom line - it was a wet, but enjoyable evening, and some really great photos.

Paul, did you get your Aquatech gear in time?

Nope. Hasn't arrived just yet. Hopefully in the next few days.

But, I already had a Kata cover, which protected the camera.

Every game brings a bit more confidence & you soon feel that you'll always get something, whatever the conditions. It helps when you have the lads to bounce ideas off.

So true. Once comfortable, you know you'll get enough quality shots.

And the added bonus of having other boards photographers there. It's a good way to learn and also a bit of a challenge and fun.
