Soundproofing A Room

I am thinking of buying soundproof plasterboard.I am told that you only glue it onto existing wall. WILL THIS WORK:confused:

It's not really glueing it - you "dab" it on with bonding compound. If you knew where the studs are on your wall you could screw it directly to the wall.
