Quick Fuse question

    Ok not sure if this is in the right section, but here goes...I recently bought a bass amplifier. It came from France so the power cable has the 2 pin connectors. So I bought an adaptor to plug it into, now my question is, the power cable has a 16 amp fuse whereas the adaptor has a 13 amp fuse, will I not be able to use the power cable with this adaptor?     i wonder would it be worth while cutting off the french plug off the power cable and replacing it with a rewirable irish type 13 amp plug?
