I find it quite amusing the extent some people go about repairing damage on their cars.
Just recently I was in a factors when an old guy walks in and asks for some brush on touch up paint to repair a scratch on a 06 Volvo door! Has any one got any pictures to post of bad body work?

A friend of mine hand painted an opel corsa with black hammerite :D
Actualy looked quiet good, I'll see if he has any pic's of it.

I used hammerite as a rust protector along the bottom edge a of a Ford Escort - it looked perfectly professional to be honest.

A mate of mine had a Fiat 3P sports back in the pre NCT days, he had a red plastic tray from a box of jacobs buiscuts duct taped over the back lights as a lense. A Cop pulled him in and asked him were the buiscuts nice and gave him a caution.

ive a mate who drives an ITR ( integra type R ) and he wreaked it , so he used ply filler ( boat seal... \) and duct tape and just sold the car one... would never pass the nct imo :|

The auld lad had a 1984 Fiat Uno that was mostly filler and Hammerite.

Mate of mine crashed his Corsa fairly badly and got most of the front off another in a scrapyard - including naff decals he could never remove from the totally differently faded bonnet (almost yellow vs. off-white) and a bumper that was held on using large self-tapping screws through the front.... amazingly he took and passed his driving test in it!

I did patch the sills of a Isuzu Aska with "Leak Fix" which is brilliant stuff to have. I rubbed the rot away, dried the interior as much as possible then stuffed the cavity with steel wool which backed the wire mesh section I applied using Leak Fix. I wish i had taken pix ;) Rubbed down when hard and painted with hammerite. Dunno how well it lasted as I stopped using the car not that long after and sold it on.

A guy in work was trading his A4 in but hit a cow on the road before the deal was completed. He just wanted the absolute cheapest job he could get done to fix up the bonnet and wing. You should have seen what he got!
The dents were mostly taken out, sort of, but the paintwork...not only was it full of runs but there was actually a dead fly in the paint on the bonnet!! He had to wait for a wet day to do the trade in so the guy wouldn't cop it.

Ditto, but with an 83 Starlet (5 door). Bottom sills, the slightly flared bit on the wheel arch and the boot lid. All of which were about 70/30 mix of rust and fibreglass filler - mainly 70% filler.

Hammerite covers lots of sins and leaves a fairly even finish when applied with a brush.

As the OP I was hoping that this thread would get some more picture postings of bad craftsmanship. Here's another one. New shape Ford Transit repair job, filler and paint covers beading between panels and a colour mismatch along with a few dribble snots.
