    US Open research..

I'm still confused as to whther medium hitters are at a huge disadvantage?

Although the course is super long, the fairways are fast and firm.

Anyone clear up this debate for me?
I've read so mant differing previews I don't know how to evaluate short/medium hitters this weekend..

Medium STRAIGHT hitters should be ok - for this course the premium is om keeping ball on cut stuff - a medium hitter who keeps it straight and hits the fairways is probably better that a long hitter who puts more than a few in the off ramp !!

Here's my bets for the US open

    Outright Winner

    Justin Rose - 35/1
    Podge - 22/1
    Anthony Kim - 60/1

    All bets e/w

    To finish in top 10

Martin Kaymer - 19/2 - this guy seriously owes me !!
Robert Dinwiddie - 40/1 - has shown well in Europe - long shot !

Further review after Round 1 - all bets with the Power fella.

Strong 4 ball that against the field.

For all you Padriag Harrington backers at approx 22-24/1 (I don't see McGinley among the starters
...... why don't you back a Republic of Ireland winner at 30 on betfair?;)

No european has won it for nearly 40 yrs so no reason for that to change.Heres who I'm backing:

Cabrera 100/1 e/w defending champion crazy odds
Sabbatini 100/1 e/w a man of his talent shouldnt be this price.
Appelby 90/1 e/w has threatened a few times is reasonably long needs to hold 4 rounds together.

Should be able to trade them off at some stage for decent profit. Happy punting!!!!

Culchie theres no liquidity in that market currently there's €7 @26 which is the same as his lay price. I always look out for this ,its only usually a couple 100 max.

He's with Tiger tomorrow as well.

He's cracked every time the last 10 years he has played with him, so I wouldn't hold my breath on that one.

  • Registered Users Posts: 247 ✭✭PAU

Oh yeah I know, most that play with Tiger suffer, but who knows if he can post a good score tomorrow and make the cut,he still might have a chance.

Streelman is 66/1 and Hicks 125/1 on pp.... i threw a few quid e/w on both, they probably won't be up there on sunday night but surely they should be given more credit than those prices... hamilton, micheel and curtis come to mind:eek:

You have to remember that Scott is out later on when the course will be playing harder and is again paired with lefty and Woods so I think Nah Scott will be gone.

PAU-what are u on about scott is 5 shots off the lead in 30th place-lol.

  • Registered Users Posts: 247 ✭✭PAU

Top 60 and ties make the cut.. And anyone within 10 shots of the leader makes it too (whichever is the greater number).. so scott is fine.. He is well in contention, played really well yesterday from tee to green but just putted poorly..

€20 on westwood. so looking to lay.

He is 9/2 so looking to see what people would do.

would try and guarantee to win 200 or go 50/50. try and win more if he loses or just let it all ride

    Thanks for all advice

  • Registered Users Posts: 857 ✭✭✭thedini

lay him for 400 no stopping woods now

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,327 ✭✭✭hotspur
