Hi everyone, myself and the other half are thinking of heading to Kilkenny City for a weekend away in june. Any recommendations on places to stay bearing in mind we are students but don't really wanna stay in a hostel. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Kilkenny Inn is pretty cheap and is quite central.

There's a couple hotels/B&B's you may consider also. Other people may have different reactions though.

Egan's on John St. (Clean, very cheap but at weekends there can be noisy hens and stags parties in same building , no breakfast)

The Bailey on Parliament St. (Clean, cheap, average and breakfast.)

Kilford Hotel on John's St. (Bit more expensive, larger than you'd expect. Not so cheap. very clean. Gorgeous rooms and decent breakfast. Can be parties too. Residents bar though :D:D)

Shem Lawlers/Dempseys on John's st. (Never tried but supposed to be nice.)

Days Hotel (Good bit outside town, supposed to be decent price for a hotel. Tried their Dublin counterparts in Rathmines a couple months ago and couldn't recommend it enough. Heard bad stories though about some of their Dublin hotels.)
