surprise party

I want to throw a surprise party in Cork city - where would be good to have it? I don't really want one of those private room events, but still have a space for our friends - any suggestion?

try slainte (Patrick st - to the right of burger king) , they have a room upstairs you can hire out, nothing too big, has its own bar,can fit a dj, nice size for a small party, or else you could try the main bar,ive seen them reserve bits of it for various parties
