Corsa C door card

On Friday I'll be doing a friend a favour - we'll be taking out the rear door card on the passengers' side to try and push out a minor dent on the said door.

Has anyone done it on a Corsa C before(the Corsa C for those who don't know is the 01-06 Corsa)? If so, what does one have to do?

Is it simply a matter of finding all the screws in the door card and then one gingerly gets the door card out while taking care of the door handle and door lock? Obviously I'll be putting all the screws in a safe place cause the door card will be put back on again once we're finished trying to undent the dent. Thing is, to quote Jeremy Clarkson "I haven't held a spanner in my life", basically I've no idea about the whole mechanical side of things with cars:D!

Any advice or tips would be greatly appreciated.

Haven't done a Corsa, but they're all basically the same. Make sure you have all the screws out (watch out for hidden ones), then pull the card gently from the door at the bottom and work up both sides. It lifts upwards once all the clips are popped, as it's "hooked" onto the window opening.

Edit: pushing out dents is not as easy as you may think. I've never managed to do it successfully despite trying. There is a freeze and heat method that doesn't involve taking off the door card. I'd maybe try that first.

Why don't you get a suction dent puller and pull it out? Save all the trouble of stripping it. If your in Cork or County Cork I'll do it for you for free and yes I'm a panel beater.

My mate doesn't want to be going to that expense, the stingy fecker:p! Unlike me he's good at dismantling stuff, just he reckons with me knowing about cars, that I'll know what to do. No paint damage etc, just the bodywork is dented a little. I've seen door cards removed a couple of times myself(I've helped remove one in a MkV Escort before now that I remember it), I know it's a fiddly job but IIRC it's certainly not complicated at all once you remember not to lose any screws, no electric windows or anything like that to worry about at least:).

Thanks a million to yourself and JHMEG for the advice.

If we have no success tomorrow, then we'd be more than happy to take up your offer;)! Believe me it's much appreciated. I'll PM you if we need you!

The Corsa and Astra's are a feckin disaster to take apart, the door clips break like noones business and it never goes back on like it came off. IMO get the dent sucked out rather than arsing around with the door

That's true of a lot of cars, and a very good reason not to take it off in the first place.

Short of turning my old car upside down and shaking it, i couldnt see any other way to get bits of glass out of the door !
