Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi guys,
I know this is weird but I just had a brainwave. Been spending all my time lately planning my round the world trip for 2009 for myself and my boyfriend. I was just pricing some parts of the journey and a lot of stuff works out way better in groups. So I though if anyone else was heading away next year maybe if our schedules crossed at any point we could catch up and save ourselves some cash. I know we'll prob meet people on the way but knowing some people might help.

    My basic itinerary includes:
    Trans siberian
    Vietnam
    Cambodia
    Thailand
    Indonesia
    Australia
    US
    Africa

    Any comments or advice welcome!

How do u mean "everything works better with groups"?

One word of advice- the Trans Sib- buy your tickets along the way as I did, cost me about 230 euro ( that was back in 2002 ) compared to the gob****es I was bunked up with who got shafted by a London travel agent to the tune of 600 euro for the exact same journey !

It actually works out worse in groups as you have so many different personalities who have different interests and want to do different things. So you end up splitting either temporarily or permanently in some cases. And it also makes it harder to book into hostels/hotels on certain nights as there may be only 1 or 2 beds left. Some with booking buses/trains/planes at last minute. Could be 6 in your group but only 2 or 3 spaces left. 2 or 3 is the most i'd have in my group although i'll have 6 this year. But we plan on splitting up as some want to do places others don't.

South America would be great if the funds are ok.
With regard to groups I just meant that if there were say prople in vietnam around the same time who wanted to visit a particular attraction or attractions we could just get together for a day or whatever.
