Whatever,i think it would be better they win it after so much time than Lakers

  • Registered Users Posts: 15,172 ✭✭✭✭kmart6

    Each to their own!

Not saying Lakers didnt deserved it,just for me it would be nice that team with biggest history and with so long time without title bring it back to Boston, and they deserved it this year most than any year lately coz this is season they played best. That doesnt mean Lakers dont deserve to win just with Boston would be a bit symbolic

 I'm pìssed off with the schedule. Not 1 game is on a friday or saturday night which means I can't watch them.

I really hope the Celtics win it.

Won't be able to watch this series until game 4 such is the timing of the Leaving Cert:(. Having said that should be a awesome series .

Just found something on the NBA UK site that says you can watch the Finals live no paying or anything. Here's hoping it works in Ireland. Such a pity Sky won't show it:rolleyes:

Possible means of watching the games live and free

For a team that had it's superstar labouring trade demands just because he didn't have a Gasol or Bynum like player, Sasha the machine didn't shoot like he did this season, Fisher was coming off his worst shooting year, There was no Gasol, Bynum was still very raw, Kwame Brown was horrible etc etc. Most experts had them pinned for 40-42 wins.

In contrast the Celtics were virtually handed a Franchise player for free by a GM who specialises in looking out for his former team. Hard to say it will be symbolic for Boston should they win it.

    Lakers in 6

I know it sucks it's on so late over here. You could always record the games, they're live on five, and watch them the next day, thats what I'll be doing for a couple of them anyway. Not as good as live but at least you won't hear the result in the news over here

Well i dont see why its problem to write a list where matches will be on

  • Registered Users Posts: 15,172 ✭✭✭✭kmart6

It's not on Sky! Any basketball fan worth their salt would know that they don't have the rights for it this year!

:rolleyes:He asks a question and gets a smart answer. Not everyone follows these things.

Sky Sport I would imagine is the one that based in the EU and not the one that's shown on UK/Ire screens. Channel 5 have it in the UK but very rare to get that here. I have a link here that you may be able to watch the matches from, I'll PM it to you.

Yeah but that's tha annoying thing, just jumps into it now at the finals, when they clearly haven't been following it!

Well I knew that cause of the rest of the list but the poster after the list didn't seem to! I've been watching every game almost perfectly on sites from here.

So because he's only watching the finals (we don't even know that for sure), it's somehow annoying to you? I know loads of people (all of whom are basketball fans and who have played for over a decade) who can't commit to watching regular season games due to work and real life but are willing to allow a few weeks of staying up late to watch the finals. That is the reality of life after school and college.

It's an assumption that he is since he doesn't know anywhere to watch them, and especially since he didn't know that Sky don't have it!

i'm assuming that you're talking about me kmart. get off your high horse. for your info i have been following the playoffs, regular season & pre-season (is that enough) so **** you. i happen to be working late shifts throughout the finals and was wondering if any tv channels had it. next time don't be so quick to jump to conclusions

If you're in Ireland you can watch the NBA Finals online for free since no station here has the rights:

Solid performance from the C's, legendary stuff out of Pierce to return, I had a feeling it was a shadow injury to make the Lakers complacent and cocky, worked the trick whether it was genuine or not. Allen and Cassell unsung heroes again, they made some decisive scoring in that game, really impressed with Cassell in the first half but dipped slightly in the 3rd.

OT but what the hell was that ad ABC ran midway in the fourth? It started off as "Heroes of the Game" or something, and then some invincible guy who takes hits off trains and jumps sky-high appears. McBain or something like that?

*Wait just got it there, it's a new Will Smith film called Hancock. A bit random of ABC to go chopping up game footage with movie trailers in the middle of the NBA finals...

Good start to the series. This was a tough game to the end. The Lakers missed a ton of open shots. It seemed everything just rattled out, especially in the 4th Qtr. Boston looked to be getting way too many chippy fouls called their way, but they are in their own house, so it's to be expected.

If the Lakers can actually hit some of those open looks, I think they can win game 2. They really needed to grab a decent lead when Pierce went down, but they seemed like they lost their way on offense. It'll be interesting to see how that leg feels tomorrow once he cools down.

Good start for the Celtics. Hopefully Pierce is ok for Game 2.

    Celtics 108-102 Lakers : Celtics lead 2-0

Terrible defence by the Lakers, were down by 24 in the 4th with 2:40 to go but managed to get it down to 2. Have to question some of the defensive decisions made by the Lakers during the game.

IMO I thought the ref's were being a lot harder on the Lakers and calling fouls on them!
