Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi,

Just wondering if anyone could let me know whether it was just statutory rape that was changed under the 2006 and 2007 Acts or were other sexual offences altered as well?
    Cheers!

First of all, I take it you mean the Criminal Justice (Sexual Offences) Act, 2006 and the Criminal Justice (Sexual Offences) (Amendment) Act, 2007.

4 old offences were replaced (well, technically only 3 of them were replaced) by two new offences - defilement of a child under 15 years of age, and defilement of a child under 17 years of age.

These new offences are different to the old offences, and are broader than statutory rape (i.e. they also include sexual assaults and s.4 rapes as against young children).

The 2007 Act brought in an offence of soliciting, meeting etc of a child for the purposes of a sexual act.

So it was only sexual offences committed against children that was changed, if that is what you mean.
