Big deal, 5 min is nothing, that was the loading time in a few years ago.

Gives you 5 min to have a glance over the manual! :)

The game will run better if its running off the hard drive rather than off the cd anyway

Is that meant to be a bad thing?

I put in GTA 3 yesterday and it was ages starting up...

p.s GTA 3 just feels so crap and lifeless now compared to San Andreas.

    No wai!

Gta 3 is the best one!

    in terms of missions?

In my opinion it lacks personality. Say what you want but CJ was a charasmatic protagonist, and San Andreas was a very busy place in contrast to the depressing PS2 Liberty City.

Yeah, no big deal. I'd rather if I had to wait 5 mins to have it running off the hard drive on my xbox360 - but obviously that isn't going to be an option. I'd say it will make the PS3 version a bit faster and smoother.

Ha! I played a bit of SA, but haven't really put any time into any of them since GTA2 - that was fricken awesome. And still is.

the 360 version will give you an option to install the game when you put in the disc apparently: http://gamingeh.com/first-grand-theft-auto-4-review-maaaybe/

As for the original thread topic: bit over dramatic in fairness. Almost as if the game was delayed again :p

if it means the game will run better than on a 360 (which no doubt it will), it can take half an hour if it wants

What makes you say that? Isn't it widely known 9/10 multiformat games run far better on the 360 than the ps3?

The 360 version has an install too, but you dont haveto install it, it will simply take longer to load **** from the disc if you choose not to install.

that's my idea of making it run better imo.

also wasn't the game developed for the ps3 and then ported to the 360, there would have to work miracles to fit 20 gigs on to on dual layer dvd for the 360, this will make seek times longer as well.

i suppose we'll only know for certain what's what on tuesday week

only 5  thats grand so , i was preparing myself for an install time of around 30 min's or so.

roll on the 29th and an early birthday present :D .

exactly, there much worse out there,

for example GT5: prologue took about 30 minutes to install, you'd think with an install that big the fecking loading in the menus would be a little faster

Perhaps some of them were disappointing but I would say the same about SA.

The last mission in GTA 3 was pure magic, great writing and really was a good climax.

For me personally I preferred Liberty to California which I think had too many neighbourhoods.

Thats right, in terms of that I'd give GTA 2 hours. This is for the PS3 IMO...

was reading on wikipedia there that one the main reasons it was delayed til april along with not bringing it out at same time as cod 4, mass effect is that they were having big problems optimizing it to work on ps3, so personally i wouldn't bet my house on that cremo(you'd never think i have a 360 would ya:))

maybe so, but then again i don't feel like paying the multiplayer tax on a 360.

It's a well known fact that the ps3 was a major reason behind GTA IV's delay. It's also a well known fact that even a month or two before the orginal October release date, the 360 version had frame-rate problems.

The game will run just as good on both systems, and will lood just as good. However, Cremo is right, if there is no option to install the game on the harddrive for the 360, the ps3 will have faster loading times.

I'm getting both versions of the game, so I'll let you know a few days after the 29th ;)

I thought it was the other way round actually? I thought the 360 was lead SKU and it was ported to the PS3. That's why for months any of the footage that's been seen has been displayed on a 360, with not a peep out of the PS3 build of the game. It had some PS3 mags kinda worried about the state of the PS3 version.

I've got both consoles, but will be getting this for the PS3, just cos I've got more friends with PS3s than 360s.
