Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back a page or two to re-sync the thread and this will then show latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Internet Issue? Router Issue? Or something else?

Quickie Q for the Comms experts...

All weekend my internet connection has been up and down at home (Eircom 2mb, netopia router, wireless).

It seemed to go down for 20-30 mins at a time since late Saturday evening.

    My questions:

    1. While down, the full connectivity icon was still active in vista on my laptop (globe in front of monitors). Usually with no connectivity, its just the 2 monitors... Also while down, I have no internet connection on my PC upstairs, and I'm disconnected from XBox Live.

    2. While down, the Internet indicator and Wireless indicator were blinking on the router, indicating activity (do these blink if it is repeatedly trying to reconnect, or is it something more sinister?)

    3. When it goes down, I lose connectivity from my XBox 360 to my PC upstairs. So if I'm streaming a movie from my PC, the screen goes black and I get a "Buffering" message at the top of my TV screen. Surely if the internet is gone, I should still have internal connectivity within my house?

In a wave of paranoia, I changed the key on the router to something else late last night. It hasn't been changed long enough to see if its made a difference, but I'll let you know....
