Extracting InstallShield 12 packages?

I have a Ralink wireless LAN card here which uses an InstallShield 12 installation package. I don't want to install the Ralink wireless utility, which it does by default, so I'd like to extract the package and update the driver manually. Is there any way to do this? I used to be able to use programs like ISCabVu or i6comp with the older versions.

UniExtract. Doesn't always work but it's worth a try.

I'm pretty sure I tried it at some stage. IIRC, it extracted the packed EXE into the usual setup.exe, data1.hdr, data1.cab etc but could not extract the cab as it was in a different format to the IS 6.0 format.

It lists

InstallShield Cabinet archive .cab, .1, .lib
InstallShield package .exe

as supported formats but doesn't say what version. Don't know any others i'm afraid.

I also want to extract a Ralink .exe install package because I don't want to use their wireless utility. UniExtract was able to extract the files, but then there's still a data1.cab that I need to extract, and I can't find anything that will extract it. Hi, I were trying to extract and foud the solution while i was searching in google. Also I saw your post and i wanted to share the solution with you.:D

1. Download this:
InstallShield Cabinet File Viewer

2. Run ISCabVu.exe,

3. Select "Components" from the "View" menu,

4. Open a cab file,

5. Select the file you want to extract and double click it. (Program extracts one file in an attempt, so extract them all separetly)

Cool! Thanks for that. I don't have said wireless card anymore and Ralink now ask you if you just want the driver so my original question is long solved. However it's always good to have a new version of the IS CAB viewer, I'll surely need it for other things down the line.
