Time trial traithlon wheels

I was just wondering are Spinergy Rev X aero carbon wheels permitted to be used in triathlons and time trail events. I have them both front and back on my bike and heard that people using them may be disallowed from competing in local duathlon or triathlon races. Dont ask me why. Also does anyone have any experience in using them ie do they make a difference to overall speed etc. Attached below is a link to what they look like. I have the 3 spoke wheels on the front and back of the bike (its a kestrel Teflon bike) and have not used them yet.

I know they're banned by the UCI for massed start events (i.e. road races) where they've attracted the nickname of "carrot choppers". I've no idea about TTs or Triathlons (or indeed what bike regulations triathlons use). Might be best to check with the race organisers.

better off buying a set of zipp's that you know are race legal, you dont want to go and spent loads of money on a set of wheels and not be allowed into some events
