Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Backing up and Restoring problems on N95 8GB

I backed up all my contents before doing the latest firmware upgrade on my N95 8GB. I had to use the older version of PC suite as all I get is errors when using the newer one.

Everything has been restored except for calendar entries, which is very annoying! I have checked the backup file and all calendar info, thankfully, is in there.

Has anyone else had this problem? Any help would be great!

    Not much help now, BUT...
But, always back up phone memory to phone's mass storage (in case of built in like n95/8), or to memory card...the fw update will not touch the mass memory, so after the update or if/when sth else f*cks up your phone memory, you can restore from memory card/mass storage... So, you could have restored app settings, calendar entries etc etc... I find the backup to pc via pc suite a bit iffy - some 3rd party apps cannot be restored etc etc...

anyhow... No idea as to how to get your calendar entries out of the pc's backup-folder to your phone, though I think I remember reading about it...

Thanks for that, so how do I copy the phone memory to mass memory, just use explorer on my PC?

    Nah...

    On the phone:

Menu -> tools -> utilities -> memory -> options -> back up phone memory

That also backs up apps like opera mini and their settings etc!

You should still back it all up to pc now and again, in case you ever need to reformat mass memory.
Good thing is: the phone back-up file in your mass memory will then also be backed up to pc. So when not everything gets restored from pc to phone, there is a good chance you will still be able to restore phone memory from mass memory.

I have yet to lose a contact or stored mails etc. Just some 3rd party apps tend to go awol... Ce la vie.
