    MS released this PDF document that you can use to see what exams are what and what are the requirements for each.

    The Server 2008 Exam tracks are there too along with the upgrades (ie: if you have an MCSE 2003 then you need to do 4 exams to become an MCSE 2008). It's actually not as confusing as I first though it was, but these certificates will expire unlike the old MCP, MCSA & MCSE formats which is a shame because it takes alot of emphases off the time, money & effort that goes into the whole certification process.

    This new format might put some people off getting certified, but I suppose like the Cisco exams it is mainly geared towards recertifying every few years more then anything else.

    Visual Studio 2008 MCTS Exams Available Now

    As of today, the three Visual Server 2008 MCTS exams are available in English for registration worldwide:

    • Exam 70-502 TS: .NET Framework 3.5, Windows Presentation Foundation Application Development
    • Exam 70-503 TS: .NET Framework 3.5, Windows Communication Foundation Application Development
    • Exam 70-504 TS: .NET Framework 3.5, Windows Workflow Foundation Application Development

    Passing any of these three exams earns credit toward a corresponding MCTS certification—verifying your deep technical skills in key Visual Studio 2008 technologies. You must also pass Exam 70-536 TS: .NET Framework, Application Development Foundation in order to complete the requirements for the certification.
    Look forward to a second notification, and second savings voucher, when MCTS Visual Studio exams 70-505, 70-561, 70-562 open for registration in July 2008. SQL Server 2008 exams are scheduled to start coming out in August (subject to change based on actual exam release date).

    Register with your Savings Voucher

    • Register by phone or online for your Visual Studio 2008 exam using voucher number KN01ZNNS1T, good for one of the following three MCTS exams: 70-502, 70-503, 70-504.
    • Your savings code is valid worldwide at Prometric testing centers for a 40% savings on the standard price of a Microsoft Certification exam in your region.
