Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I have a movie file on my PC.

I use VLC player to play it and there is no problem.

I tried to play the file on a Vista machine using VLC player and it wouldnt work.

I then tried it again on the XP machine and it worked without a problem..

Does anyone have an idea why it wont play on Vista? normally any file format plays on VLC player.. So thats why i think it might have something to do with vista.

    any help would be great.

Is it the same version of VLC on each machine? It does seem strange because VLC should use its own internal libraries.

I dont think so.. as the one my own PC (XP) was installed a few months ago.. I downloaded a fresh one from there site and installed in on the Vista machine. So any updates would have been installed as well.

    What format is the file?

If its divx for example you need to go get the driver again. http://divx.com

Ah I see. Vista has the newest version then. You could try running vlc as administrator under vista. Right click on vlc.exe -> Run as admin
