I hope folks here don't mind ,but I'm looking for a quick bit of advice about cars.

Basically I've been driving vans for years and I've never had a proper car as such.
I've been seriously contemplating getting an accord diesel ,but now I'm starting to look at the 320D. Both secondhand ,around the 25K+ mark.

I like having a bit of power ,without having to drop a gear and thats why I am choosing diesel. I'm hoping to get a car ,that I won't have to drive hard to enjoy.

I'm not looking for anything flash ,but I do like my technology.

Any ideas ? ,am I on the right track. I started looking at audi's ,but the engines don't seem to be powerful enough ,for the price range.

Accord sounds like the perfect motor for you. The 3 series is a nice car but it's overrated and this is reflected in the prices and equipment. Get yourself an Accord 2.2CTDI Executive. Here are a few examples. These have all the goodies like leather etc which you won't find in a similar year/price Beemer.

if you want a fast diesel get a bmw with the 3.0 straight 6 diesel, either a 330 or 530, examples below, never mind that accord :p

Wait. If ur buyin a relatively new diesel, especially the 320d or Accord wait till after july. The prices will drop a good bit and u'll be guaranteed to save money. Do a bit of searching on boards and u will find the price drops. A new 320d is going down by 7 k new, so i'd expect second hand value to some what follow suit. Wait and see if my advice

OT: I remember a fella in January tryin to trade a 07 Accord, and wanted more money than what we were givin him. He then went on to brag about it's low emissions and how it's new price would come down drastically in June.......He realised his mistake and left haha:p

I'd go for the 320D though if it's in budget
