Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Saw some not-so-good reports about castlebar in another thread but thinking about going there for a stag in July ..... been in westport before for a previous one and although it was good, don;t want to be hitting same place again...

    few questions..
    1. Is it a stag friendly town ? (at least will we be able to get into places if we dont make it too obvious : ) )
    2. Despite reports are there some good pubs/clubs there?
    3. Any recommendations for hotels (with residents bar) - been told Days Inn is good spot and good location
    4. Is there much trouble generally there or is it a pretty cool town?

    Any other advice welcome
    Cheers
    Mav

castlebar has seen massive growth in the last few years and ive heard the pubs do a good trade all week, nice town plenty of choice

btw i dont think westport is that stag/hen friendly, more for the tourists and pilgrimage goers:)

I would not recommened Castlebar grew up beside there and have had to move a few yrs ago. A lot of the pubs have now closed and a lot of siht heads there. Last time we went back one mate got his nose broke for talking to a girl at the bar and another got his jacket stole off him as he waited outside a club. I would go to westport but makes sure to call ahead and say its a stag party.
