Ok So Here is what i was thinkin for those of us who are gonna be playing GTA all night from release. How about we meet for a game about 4 am or so on the 29th? (on XBL) I plan to do single player for a bit first then give the multiplayer a whirl, so whos up for it??

Is multiplayer going to be available from the beginning of the game? Or will it be something you have to unlock? It'd kinda defeat the purpose of unlocking parts of the map if you could just get to them straight away in multiplayer.

Also you access multiplayer through your phone, and as the game progresses you get better phones with added features, which leads me to believe multiplayer may be locked at the beginning of the game. Haven't read anything about it though so it's purely a guess.

grand so, 3/4 hours of single player, to unlock multiplayer (Hopefully) then some miltiplayer, anyway we'll see what happens...

You can't play Free Roam until you unlock all the islands, everything else is ok.

i'm personally staying away from the multiplayer until the initial rush dies down a bit. not saying it will happen but look at the MGS:online beta.

TBH, I think I will be so wrapped in exploring Liberty City and all it has to offer, and all the great physics in the game, that I won't be bothered with Multilayer for about 3 weeks after release.

I'm probably the same as above and will wait until i've played lost of the single player game.

On ign it says you just whip out your phone ingame and theres a menu with multiplayer but I dont know if you have to unlock it! maybe you got to get a phone first?

I remember reading that yes you just pull out your phone and hop into it, most importantly something along the lines off ''everywhere is unlocked in multi-player regardless'' so it's basically you can just play in a place the storyline hasnt unlocked, for this reason i'm going to avoid playing the other island online at the start!!. Just the one that you start on i'll stick too!

Usually with a new game you just play sp till you're sick, then mp. Should take more than a day to get sick of it though...
