Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I'm gonna be in Northern South Africa this summer, and will be visiting Swaziland aswel which I thought might be a good stopping off point for going to Maputo in Mozambique for a couple of days, since they do shuttles from alot of hostels in Mbabane, when in Rome ya know.

Anyway, anybody ever been? If so what to do? safe? And whats the deal with visas, I heard they've stopped giving them out on the border?

I went to Mozambique from Malawi. Never got down as far south as Maputo, because the North coast was so beautiful and unspoilt. I got my visa before I left Malawi. It was a pretty amazing place - old poruguese-style towns that seem really european with an African feel, and amazing beaches and islands.

I'd say it'll have a totally different feel to South Africa (although i've never been there) and should be perfectly safe. If you're up on the north coast go to the Ihla de Mocambique and stay at Casa Reas. Great vibe. Try to get out to Ibo island as well, if you have time.

Cheers for that. I just heard there that you can get visas at the land borders and the airport so I'll see if there's any problems, I'm sure they've alot of scams.

I don't think we'll be able to make it far up Mozambique, probably only around Maputo and the immediate area, could stay longer if it's any good!
