In all fairness the Bebo tribute thing is really weird. I don't buy into it at all myself.

People need to realise that you should have some personal responsibility as to what you post on the net, what you say on the television and the opinions and image your portray. No point in complaining about things after the fact and in fairness the attitude portrayed by that lass and her mates was less than stellar at times from what i can see.

Not saying it is right or wrong to tear people down, i'm just saying that this chick set herself up for the fall and i'm honestly suprised people are reacting this way considering some of the things that have been bandied about when other people, area's, cities or religions and such have been discussed in a in similar manner in the past.

i wouldn't call a traveller a knack, they are different. a knack imo is someone of poor repuation and behavior, and i notice they fequent clubs i mentioned, and in my opinion are not people i'd like to socialise with, and i passed on this information to someone asking where to club.

She came across very, very, very poorly on the show.

I watched this show the other night, not having seen the original, though I think most of the original was shown in the recaps.

My initial thoughts were 'oh my God the 'D4' one is such a stereotype', but then I tried to look past the boasting and particularly her friends and I started to have a fair bit of sympathy for her. I think she seemed outrageous when put beside the other two girls, both of whom seemed genuinely excited about their debs for all the 'right' reasons.

I was aware not many traveller girls make it to Leaving Cert. or ever get to go to a debs, so I knew what a big thing this would be for her and her family and unsurprisingly all the stops were pulled out for her dress and evening.

The Latvian girl did not have anything similar to a debs in her culture and her night, like that of the traveller girl was loaded with connotations of being accepted and belonging and being like everyone else.

All this made the Dublin girl stand out for all the wrong reasons. A lot of the nonsense she and her mates were spouting was typical of many teenagers, but there was a great deal of fancy editing went in to the programme and I think the end result was exactly what the makers intended.
