    Another oldie but just feel compelled to post that this song is simply sublime.
    The way the lyrics and melody combine is utterly exquisite.
    Why is there nothing today that comes close to how good this is?
    Refreshingly uplifting and honest in its treatment of the depressing subject matter.

    What's the closest thing to The Smiths today i wonder?

    its because all of his songs sound the same and have the same stupid rambling lyrics that would bore a scientist- he was nothing without Marr, and Marr wasn't even that great in the first place.
