it's the small things in these clips that are cool.

i think when niko goes onto a new street a street name appears in the bottom right corner.
cops seem a lot of a lot smarter.
these guys are driving big distances and they didn't leave one island.
the HDR and bloom looks amazing even if it's recorded with a crappy camcorder.
the different punch animations niko has like jab, kidney punch etc.

is that a lot of the cars seem to look like and handle like they're driving on ice.

I played it last night for about 3-4hours and it is possibly one of the finest game ever made, the attention to detail is stunning, you will not be dissapointed. Roll on the weekend

*edit* and dont worry about car handling it is absolutely fantastic, love it love it love it

Good to hear, it does look pretty dismal on some of the vids, but then GTA car handling has always looked bad in vids and it's only when you get your own hands on it that it works

graphical slowdowns are not that bad, and the odd frame skip is not that noticable,

I didn't notice anything being installed and there is no option too, there are no load times apart from going into missions then its an approx 30-60 second load, then its pretty much seamless, going into buildings is nice and smooth.

To be quiet honest, I just cruised around the city for a bit and did the first two missions. But my initial impression was wow

I remember hearing from someone at Rockstar that ''you can basically play this game from start to finish without any load screens'', so i'd say there was something wrong with the version you played, in all fairness it was never even more then 5-6secs in the older versions!!
